Service Projects

We challenge students to put their faith into action by serving other people. In addition to our annual Serve-a-thon, we find many opportunities for our students to serve in the local and global community. Last year, we connected with two new organizations.

Matthew 25 Farm

Located in Tully, N.Y., the Matthew 25 Farm grows vegetables to give away to the community. The farm adopted the mission of Matthew 23:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” Since 2010, the farm has donated over 150,000 pounds of fresh produce. Our students again worked at the farm in May 2012 and look forward to harvesting in the fields this fall.

Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children seeks to combat world hunger. Founded in 1987, this Christian non-profit developed a low-cost, nutritionally-rich meal to feed starving children. Using high-efficiency packing methods, volunteers can gather at permanent or mobile site to pack meals to send to the hungry around the world. In 2012, our students worked with other volunteers to produce over 330,000 meal packs. During the first week of school, our students traveled to the First Congregational Church of Ithaca and participated in the fight against hunger.
