Our Mission

CLCS is a private Christian school committed to partnering with families to build Godly character in children through relationships, service, and academic excellence. Our vision is that our graduates are servant leaders transforming the world.

Our History

For over 40 years, Covenant Love Community School has been dedicated to educating the whole child. We prepare students to meet the challenges of this generation through academic excellence and a Biblical worldview.

In the fall of 1974, with only five students, Covenant Love Community School opened under the guidance of Fulbright scholar Ragnhild Kjeldaas (now Ragnhild Ulrich, The Bridge International). Kjeldaas built an academic program which laid a foundation for her students’ intellectual, spiritual, and emotional development. She believed that unconditional love would unlock the heart of a child. The school continued to grow, and Kjeldaas remained as administrator and teacher for six more years, at which time the school was acknowledged by the Albany State Educational Department as the best private school in its category in the State of New York. Today, CLCS serves both full time and hybrid-homeschool students, in PreK through 8th grade, from 18 school districts. With our growing Environmental Education program and small student-teacher ratio, CLCS offers a unique and vibrant Christian education.
