CLCS alumni, Audrey Moore, began attending CLCS in 4th grade, and she found that learning can be an adventure and is fun! Audrey learned to work hard academically, but most importantly, she learned about the mercy, grace and love of Christ. It’s because of her 4th grade teacher, Ms. Temple, and the atmosphere at CLCS, that she became a Christian and remains a follower of Christ today. Ms. Temple instilled in Audrey the desire to become a teacher.
After graduating from CLCS in 2002, she went on to graduate with honors from Groton Central High School, and then received her Bachelor’s degree in General Education & Special Ed from Roberts Wesleyan. Audrey then attended SUNY Cortland for her Masters of Education in Literacy, which she received in 2012.
Prior to finding a full time job, she was a part time teacher at CLCS, a Substitute teacher at Groton and Dryden Central Schools, and a track coach. As Audrey continued to look for full time work as a classroom teacher, “the staff and community at CLCS continued to lift me in prayer and celebrated with me when I received a job offer in Maryland!” In 2014 she moved to Maryland, where she currently works as Special Education Chair Person in Prince George’s County Public Schools.
