5th & 6th Grade Science: Crime Scene Investigation

“Who done it?”

The 5th & 6th graders investigated “blood” samples from a “crime scene” last week, during their study of the circulatory system. Someone was found bleeding and unconscious, and the students had to figure out “who done it!” It turned out that it was an accident, not a crime, and the students had a terrific time solving the mystery!

Mrs. Sorensen, the 5th & 6th grade Science teacher, is also a boy-scout mom and leader. She used the same scenario this past summer, but the boy scouts had four days to solve the crime, instead of one class period! The word around school is that something just as fun and educational is in store for our students when they learn the Mohs hardness scale in the upcoming Earth Science unit!
